Key Work
Key work refers to a one to one support service, which works intensively with young people who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
The youth workers will provide an advocacy key work service providing confidential support, information, advice, on going case work or referral to other agencies to support the young person and provide an appropriate support mechanism whilst young people are experiencing difficult times.
The youth workers work towards building positive relationships with young people by providing support around specific issues to include:
• Self image/self esteem
• Sexuality
• Relationships
• Pregnancy
• Bullying
• Offending/antisocial behaviour
• Anger management
• Substance misuse
• Welfare and Benefits Family breakdown
• Education Training/employment
How to access key work service……
Self-Referral
If you are a young person who is experiencing difficult circumstances and would like support, advice, information or just need someone to talk to then The Base youth work team is here to help you.
Just drop into the Chill Out area and have a chat with one of the youth workers, there’s always some one there to support you when you need it most.
Referral
If you are already involved in any of the services, schools or training centres in the Ballyfermot area you can ask some one you trust to contact The Base on your behalf, and together we work towards providing you with any supports you may require.
