European Youth Week 2007

During the week of the 3rd to the 10th June 2007, over 100 young people from Ballyfermot participated in European Youth Week Activities organised by The Base.

The theme of the week was social inclusion and diversity for all young people in Europe.

The Base organised various activities to educate and raise awareness of cultural understanding and diversity through various mediums such as dance, art, music, quizzes and much, much more.

Ten lucky young people got selected to attend Croke Park to participate in Ireland’s National Youth Day, a fun filled day of activities and workshops focusing on cultural diversity, European citizenship, participation of young people and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. Young people from all over Ireland were represented at the event discussing and debating topical and important issues. Throughout the day young people voted on issues that were important to them and the findings of the day were taken to Brussels and reported back to the European delegation.
