The Base Childcare Facility Services
The Base Childcare Facility is an integrated response to the needs of the community which is lacking in childcare provision and this service is critical to the community and particularly its young people.
The Childcare facilities have been purpose built to meet best practice guidelines and we aim to provide a service which allows the young parents to engage in our programmes, activities, education, training and employment. It will support their child’s development, care and well being by providing high quality care and protection.
The Base will provide 34 full-time places, and will strive to be a centre of excellence in childcare provision, with emphasis on high quality, flexible and affordable childcare.
The children in our care are encouraged to learn through their direct experience in an environment that is safe, stimulating and provides a sensible balance between a flexible and structured routine. We at The Base believe that learning should be fun, and well-designed play activities are an effective way for children to learn. The curriculum we provide is based on established principles for good early-years practice. We recognise that each child brings their own special ability to the group, and we seek to encourage recognition, acceptance for all, good social skills and to value courtesy and good manners.
The facilities we offer allow for a warm, bright and open environment with easily accessible garden and play area. It will cater for over thirty four places with provision for 6 babies, 10 children 1-2 years and 16 children aged from 2 upwards. These will vary depending on the requirements of the community.
